CEA is the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies alternatives). It is a public body active in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defence and security, information technologies and health technologies. In each of these fields, the CEA maintains a cross-disciplinary culture of engineers and researchers, building on the synergies between fundamental and technological research. Based on historical competences developed on powder metallurgy for the French electronuclear industry, CEA is involved in projects dealing with shape forming of different kind of materials by means of advanced processing techniques, like additive manufacturing. CEA has the possibility to develop all the process steps of magnet production at a pilot line, from the alloy and powder manufacturing to the magnet characterization.
