Fraunhofer IWKS (IWKS): The Fraunhofer Gesellschaft is Germany's leading organization for applied research. It is EIT Raw Materials Core Partner allocated to the Central CLC. Fraunhofer comprises more than 70 institutes at locations throughout Germany with about 25,000 employees. Focus of the research institution Fraunhofer IWKS is to develop solutions regarding the recycling and substitution of critical elements and materials, used amongst others in permanent magnets. In parallel to the experimental work, the assessment of environmental impacts of processes is a further key topic of Fraunhofer IWKS.
